In short: your case files stay on your computer, but AI-assisted actions send the relevant content to Lobrite’s backend and our AI provider. Lobrite does not sell your data or use it to train AI models, and it cannot guarantee that privilege is preserved.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Lobrite Legal, LLC (“Lobrite”) handles information through the Lobrite Legal website, desktop application, support, and related services. It describes what actually happens in the product today.
2. Case files on your computer
Lobrite Legal is a Windows desktop application. Your case folders, documents, drafts, and the case summaries Lobrite builds are stored on your computer in the folders you choose. They are not uploaded to Lobrite in bulk. Data that stays on your device is subject to your device’s security and backups; uninstalling the app does not delete your case folders.
3. What is sent when you run an AI action
When you run an AI-assisted action (for example Read Case, Ask a Question, Possible Next Steps or Suggest Next Move, drafting, or revision), the app sends the text needed for that action, including excerpts or the full text of the documents you selected, case details, and your instructions, to the Lobrite backend, which sends it to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the result. Your documents do leave your computer for AI actions. Court-rules research also uses the AI provider’s web search, with queries based on case details such as the court and case type. Court Lookup sends the court and case number you enter to the Lobrite backend, which retrieves public court pages.
The Lobrite backend keeps the result of an action, encrypted, for up to 24 hours so a lost connection does not lose it, and then deletes it. Usage records store the action type, document type, the case folder name you chose, credits, timing, and success or error codes; they are designed not to store your prompts or document text. Case folder names can identify a client, so name folders accordingly.
Lobrite does not use your content to train AI models. OpenAI states that it does not use data submitted through its API to train its models unless the customer opts in, and that it may keep API inputs and outputs for a limited period for abuse monitoring; see OpenAI’s policies.
4. Account, billing, and sign-in data
We keep your name, email, account type (Professional or Self-Help), plan, credit balance and history, subscription status, sign-in sessions, and records of the Terms and Privacy versions you accepted (with the time, the app version, and a one-way hash of the IP address). Stripe collects payment details directly; Lobrite receives a customer identifier and subscription status, not your full card number. If you use Sign in with Google, we receive your Google email and name.
5. Support, bug reports, and diagnostics
Support emails and in-app bug reports contain what you write. An in-app bug report can include, only if you leave those boxes checked, the app version, operating system, update channel, current section, the most recent error code, and recent app activity (action names and times, never file names, folder paths, or document text), with passwords, tokens, and keys removed. Bug reports are delivered to Lobrite support by email through Resend. The app checks for updates by downloading release information.
6. Website
The website is hosted by Bluehost. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies. When you create an account on the website, the form sends your details directly to the Lobrite backend.
7. How we use information
To provide the features you request, run your account and billing, secure the Services, prevent abuse, provide support, fix problems, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information or User Content, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Legal requests and other disclosures
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that the law, a court order, or legal process requires it, to protect the rights and safety of users or others, or in a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. Where the law allows, we will try to notify you of a request for your User Content.
10. Confidentiality and privilege limits
Lobrite is designed with confidentiality safeguards, including access controls, encrypted connections, and encrypted temporary storage of action results. Confidentiality is not absolute: information is processed by the providers above, may be accessed by authorized personnel for support or security, and can be affected by a security incident or legal process. Lobrite cannot determine whether information is privileged and does not guarantee that privilege or work-product protection applies.
For attorneys: you are responsible for deciding whether submitting client information is consistent with your confidentiality duties, protective orders, client instructions, applicable law, and professional obligations.
11. Retention and deletion
Action results: up to 24 hours. Sessions: until you sign out or they expire. Account, credit, usage, and acceptance records: Lobrite retains account, transaction, legal-acceptance, security, and related business records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain security and fraud-prevention records, comply with legal, tax, accounting, audit, and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When information is no longer reasonably necessary for those purposes, Lobrite will delete or deidentify it in accordance with its retention practices and applicable law.. You can ask us to delete your account at privacy@lobritelegal.com; some records may be kept where the law requires. Deleting your account does not delete case folders on your computer.
12. Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the risk, such as encrypted connections, access controls, hashed passwords, and encrypted storage of temporary results. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed or disclosed without authorization.
13. Where information is processed
Lobrite and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.
14. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision about your request. Send requests to privacy@lobritelegal.com. We will verify your identity and will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
15. Children
The Services are not directed to anyone under 18.
16. Changes
When we make a material change, we post a new version with a new version number and effective date, and the app asks you to acknowledge it before you continue.
